A bored and rich socialite, Katrina Moldoff put together a yellow and red costume in homage to Batman. A world-class athlete and acrobat, famous heiress to the Moldoff circus fortune, Katrina just needed some fun in life, though Batman heavily disagreed with her motives and methods.

One day, Katrina joined Batman and Robin to fight against Riddler. She brought him down publicly, only to have Riddler unmask her in front of the media, exposing her secrets. After being exposed, the courts outlawed Katrina from ever being in costume again, and she went into seclusion, shrouding herself in secrecy, angry and bitter at the Riddler for what he had done. For years, she stayed a recluse, having lost her friends and her place in society, sure that if she had been a man, none of this would have happened the way that it did.

Finally, one fateful night, Katrina came across Batman fighting crime with Nightwing and Batgirl. Angry and jealous that Batman had a “new girl”, and that he considered Gotham solely his, Katrina started to head home, when she heard on the radio that the Riddler had escaped from Blackgate Prison that same night. Deciding that it was finally time for payback, Katrina visited Felix Faust to get a magic spell. She called Batman and asked him to help her because her life was falling apart, luring him to her mansion. Once there, Katrina switched bodies with Batman, trapping him in her body while she took over his. She planned to exact revenge on Riddler and let Batman take the blame for it, destroying both of their lives in one fell swoop.

Her plan wouldn’t go by successfully, though. For one thing, Katrina was terrible at pretending to be Batman. Discovering that Batman had dressed up in Katrina’s old costume to come after her, Katrina sent Batgirl and Nightwing to apprehend Batman, while she went to go deal with Riddler in a permanent fashion. Riddler got the best of Katrina and managed to tie her up, ready to both get rid of Katrina’s personality and Batman’s body. It wasn’t to be, though. Batman arrived on the scene with Batgirl, Nightwing, and Felix Faust, who helped them to reverse the spell. After helping Batman defeat Riddler, Katrina was taken into custody, with the promise that Batman would be there for her once she was released and had paid her debt to society.
